This week, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation Farhat Bengdara, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Norwegian company Equinor. The memorandum aims to study and evaluate the oil and gas potential in the Libyan maritime region. The signing took place at the Presidential Office in the capital, Tripoli, and also included plans to train young national personnel in the oil and gas sector.
Equinor, a leading Norwegian company in offshore oil and gas exploration and drilling, is a key partner in this endeavor.
Equinor has been present in Libya for 25 years with onshore exploration and oil production activities. The company currently participate in licenses on the Mabruk field and in the Murzuq basin.
