NOVATEK and PJSC Rosseti have signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement for the implementation of activities for power supply of the Murmansk LNG project. 

The agreement will allow timely provision of power supply to the Company’s promising large-scale project “Murmansk LNG”, a distinctive feature of which is the use of electric drives of process compressors instead of gas turbine ones.  

“NOVATEK’s strategy provides for a significant increase in LNG production, and we have already begun implementing our next large-scale project in the Murmansk region,” said Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of the NOVATEK Management Board. "At Murmansk LNG, we abandoned the use of natural gas to ensure the liquefaction process in favor of electricity. This technological solution will facilitate the implementation of the project in the shortest possible time using technologies from Russian manufacturers, and will also ensure high environmental performance of the project by reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.”
