Eolus undertakes strategic review to take offshore wind power to the next level

27/07/2023

Eolus has begun a strategic review of its operations in offshore wind power with the aim of creating the best conditions for granting permits and realizing the projects.

As of March 31, Eolus had nine offshore wind power projects with an estimated capacity of a total of 10,000 MW under development. Eolus is also developing several other sea-based projects that are in the early development phase. The sea-based projects are located in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States. In July, Eolus submitted the application for an environmental permit for the 1,000 MW Västvind project, west of Gothenburg, to the government and the Land and Environment Court. Submission of permit applications for additional offshore projects is planned in the near future.

The strategic review includes the possibility of seeking a strategic partner with competence and resources that can contribute to increasing the speed of development and realization of the sea-based projects.

We want to do everything we can to increase the possibility of success for our sea-based projects. Part of this is to ensure that in all areas we have the necessary resources and can maintain a high pace in the development process, says Per Witalisson, CEO at Eolus.
