Commenting on his appointment, Andy Brown OBE FEI said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Council of the Energy Institute, an organisation I have long admired for its work accelerating a just global energy transition to net zero.

“From the EI’s industry-leading technical work programme to its key products and events - such as International Energy Week, the Statistical Review of World Energy and EnergyAware – it is leading the charge as changemakers in the sector.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the Council to help inform energy decision making, enabling industry and consumers to make energy lower carbon, safer and more efficient.”

Energy Institute Chief Executive, Nick Wayth CEng FEI, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Andy to the Energy Institute’s Council, bringing with him decades of experience and insight from across the energy and wider commercial sector.

“During his four-decade career spanning the breadth of the energy industry, Andy led multiple business functions and I know his experience and expertise will be of immeasurable help to myself and the Council.

“I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank Dame Vivienne Cox FEI for her invaluable service to the Council. A tireless champion of the Energy Institute, Vivienne has been a pillar of support during her seven years as Vice President and Honorary Secretary.”
