Venterra Announces Global Business Development Appointments

08/02/2023

Venterra Group, the offshore wind services company, today announced the appointment of three senior executives to drive its global business development. Paul Alcock becomes Group Business Development Director based in London, Scott Anderson is appointed as Vice President, Asia Pacific and Drew Carey as Vice President, Americas. The roles will be to represent the Group’s expanding activities in the fast-growing UK and European, Asia Pacific (‘APAC’) and Americas offshore wind markets working closely with our member companies.

Venterra was formed to create a global services champion supporting the offshore wind industry’s rapid expansion and leading role in the energy transition. It is building a service offering across the wind farm lifecycle, comprising Engineer, Build and Support services through a combination of acquisition and organic growth through investment. The business aims to generate accelerated growth in the fast-expanding market and urgently add the skills and capabilities needed for the energy transition.

Paul Alcock, Group Business Development Director

Paul Alcock spent his career in subsea and marine engineering. Until 2021 he spent 21 years at Acteon Group Limited where he latterly held the role of Chief Growth Officer, focused on delivering integrated service solutions and leading the Group’s new business initiatives.

Scott Anderson has served as a general manager at a number of offshore engineering and renewable businesses across the APAC region following a career in Europe and the United States. His senior roles included positions at LGM Industries, Pearl Clean Energy and SWG Group.

Drew Carey co-founded INSPIRE Environmental in 2015 and the business became Venterra’s first United States acquisition in July 2022. INSPIRE Environmental is a leading marine environmental consultancy with expertise in the acquisition and interpretation of data that determines the health of the seabed and the resources that rely on ocean habitats.

As Drew moves into his new role, Jeanine Boyle will take on the leadership of INSPIRE Environmental, where as CEO she will build on the scientific leadership in the marine environment that the company brings to offshore wind. Jeanine previously held a number of senior research and leadership roles at Battelle Memorial Institute and joined INSPIRE in 2015.

Rob Jewkes, Venterra’s Chief Executive Officer, said;
"We are delighted to have three such talented and experienced executives driving growth alongside our member companies in key regions of our global market.

Paul has led Acteon’s new business and closer integration of services in the renewables segment, responding to client needs for more coherent, joined up activities.

Scott will lead the development of Venterra’s growing presence in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Australia.  Our member companies have a long  track record in the APAC region contributing to many of the largest offshore wind projects.

Drew has been a true pioneer bringing marine science into US offshore wind. He will capitalise on Venterra’s newly opened office in Providence, Rhode Island and our member companies’ growing work with US developers as they build local supply chains.

And we are thrilled that Jeanine will now lead INSPIRE, which is making an important contribution to major developments on both the US Atlantic and Pacific coasts."
