Visa specialist Nomadic lands prestigious technology award

04/10/2022

Nomadic, a Fragomen Technologies Company, has won a prestigious travel technology award.

Nomadic landed the Technology Innovation – Traveller Experience accolade at the 27th Business Travel Awards Europe, hosted in London by BTN Group. More than 1,000 people attended the gala event at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House.

Launched at the start of 2019, Nomadic was founded by experienced and innovative immigration professionals from Fragomen, the world’s largest immigration law firm, to bring an automated and smarter approach to the immigration compliance side of short-term travel.

The award judges said Nomadic’s technology was “a much-needed technology innovation in a pandemic/post-pandemic environment with ever-changing regulatory requirements that also simplifies the visa/work permit process”.

Brendan Ryan, CEO at Nomadic said:
“I am so incredibly proud of my whole team, who have worked tirelessly to build a fantastic business based on excellence in everything we do. We are trying to do something that has not been done before and the award is recognition that we are heading in the right direction.”

Aberdeen-based Neil Thomson, EMEA director at Nomadic, said:
“The award is a fantastic achievement for everyone associated with Nomadic. There was a great deal of positivity at the ceremony. This will help to raise our profile and highlight how we can support businesses and their workforce mobility, visas and document management processes.”

Other winners on the night included British Airways, Lufthansa Group, United Airlines, LNER, Sixt and the Google American Express Travel Team.

Nomadic is uniquely positioned in its specialist market as the only provider of an end-to-end solution for international compliance, as companies contend with Covid-19 regulations, Brexit and continual changes to travel and visa rules. The digital platform is used by small, medium and large businesses and organisations, as well as FTSE-listed and Fortune 500 companies.

Nomadic recently announced a surge in international activity among energy firms. One of its accomplishments was support for a global subsea business that required 900 visas for work in South America and South East Asia on an extremely tight timescale.

The firm supports a broad range of sectors such as finance, media and entertainment. Nomadic has operations in the United States, Aberdeen, London and Dubai and plans to expand into India and Singapore by the end of the year.

The one-stop Nomadic solution assists travellers and their companies with business visas, consular services, EU Posted Worker services and much more. It meets stringent immigration, documentation and health criteria. Its optional GPS capabilities take it to another level, supporting risk management and duty of care responsibilities.

The technology encapsulates an end-to-end traveller profile, from pre-trip compliance assessment and visa requirements through to live updates and tracking. Using the portal online or via their smartphone, users simply select their proposed destination to bring up all relevant documentation and the completed documents are sent to the relevant embassy, global Nomadic hub or in-country partner for lodging.
