POWERful Women’s Annual Conference 2022

17/08/2022

  • Date: 22nd November 2022
  • Location: BEIS Conference Centre, London and online

POWERful Women is working towards a gender-balanced, diverse and inclusive UK energy sector for a net zero future.

Our fifth Annual Conference on 22nd November is the forum for UK energy companies and their leaders to engage with peers, key influencers and women working in the industry, to discuss the gender diversity and inclusion issues of the day.

Progress towards gender balance at the top of the UK energy industry remains shockingly slow. Statistics published this year showed that 75% of companies have no women in executive director positions and women still occupy only 27% of all board seats. Women are also underrepresented in the executive pipeline and our recent research showed that women in middle management experience real barriers in cultivating their career and reaching the C-suite.

At this year’s Annual Conference, our great line-up of high-level speakers will discuss how companies can build more inclusive cultures and deliver on their diversity goals. We will share “what works well” (and what doesn’t), and we’ll learn from other sectors that have made positive progress.

Practical tips and strategies on inclusion will be explored in an afternoon of workshops, and attendees will also have the opportunity for ‘speed mentoring’ and networking over lunch. The day will end with a drinks reception open to everyone.

This year’s Conference will be a hybrid event: in-person at BEIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET and streamed online (expert DEI workshops to be delivered in person ONLY).
