Corex (UK) Ltd have a vacancy in their Aberdeen facility for an enthusiastic Geology/Geoscience graduate (must be educated to at least honours degree level) to work within the Formation Damage Department (which undertakes petrographic interpretation of core material used to investigate the use of chemicals in the oil and gas industry). This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the leading service companies within the Oil and Gas Industry.

Responsibilities of Geologist/Project Coordinator will include:

• Project coordination and administration
• Petrography preparation and analysis of core samples before and after wellbore operations simulations and tests (Dry and Cryogenic Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive Spectrum Analysis and Micro/Nano CT)
• Report writing (including interpretation of geological analysis)
• Constructing project reviews and communicating with various stakeholders throughout the project life cycle as well as attending various meetings
• Opportunity to undertake petrological analysis off site for short periods of time
• With time and experience opportunities may arise for the writing of formation damage papers for technical conference presentations.

Candidates must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and work to a strict time schedule.

Previous experience would be advantageous, but is not necessary, as full training will be given to the successful candidate.
