"Welcome to Neptune Energy. We are the new oil", introduced Country Director Anne Botne, referring to a feature article in today's newspaper addressing the entry of new independent oil & gas companies ("The new oil") on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Neptune Energy is currently the fifth largest operator on the NCS.

The Crown Prince was accompanied by the Mayor of Stavanger, Christine Sagen Helgø, the CEO of ONS Leif Johan Sevland and the Minister of Petroleum and Energy Terje Søviknes. They were welcomed by CEO Jim House and Country Director in Norway, Anne Botne in Neptune Energy.

House and Botne presented the company profile and ambitions, and showed the Crown Prince a core sample from the Cara discovery, only 60 kilometers outside Florø. Cara was the second largest discovery on the Norwegian continental shelf in 2016, and expected start-up of production is being targeted for Q1 2021.

The ONS-conference and exhibition takes part every second year and is a meeting place for the global oil and gas industry. In 2016, the conference gathered more than 65 000 visitors from 99 countries. Neptune Energy is present at the ONS Exhibition with stand number 2300 in Hall 2.
