Hiretech strategy focuses on growth

14/02/2022

Aberdeenshire based rental firm Hiretech Limited has made a number of key strategic developments as it focuses on continued growth for 2022.

The company, which offers equipment rental and personnel supply to support hydraulics, well service, pipeline, chemical cleaning, decommissioning, subsea and renewable activities, is focusing on increasing market share both in the UK and overseas.

With significant overseas trade achieved to date across Africa, the Caspian, South East Asia and the Middle East, Hiretech is committed to further increasing its foothold in the international market, to over 40% towards its annual turnover. The firm has been pursuing strategic global partnerships to support its overseas ambitions.

Investment in rental products and staff training also continues as Hiretech aims to meet changing client requirements worldwide. Nitrogen pumps have recently been introduced to the rental fleet, complemented by a five-day nitrogen pumping training course for staff members. Led by industry veteran Derek Wilson, staff developed the technical skills and expertise to confidently liaise with clients regarding nitrogen pumping enquiries and to be able to assist with offshore nitrogen pumping operations.

To further support Hiretech’s growth plans, a number of new staffing positions have also been created at the firm’s headquarters at Fintray near Dyce. Samantha Mitchell has been promoted to operations supervisor, whilst Lucy Bremner joins the team as office administrator, and Darren Elder and Kailee Robinson join as graduate business development executives.

Andy Buchan, CEO at Hiretech, commented,
"We have committed to a number of strategic developments as we pursue new global business opportunities and further company growth, and fully recognise the importance of product investment and skills training as part of this. We have also made a commitment towards ensuring the future pipeline of skills coming through the business, and now have over 30% of our workforce under 30 years of age. These young professionals bring vitality, energy and new ideas to challenge the norm, contributing to our efforts as we progress and grow the business in an evolving industry. Nurturing and encouraging the next generation of industry experts is vital for the longevity of the energy sector.”

Hiretech offers a wide range of pumping spreads, umbilical reels, air winches, subsea shears, grabs and ancillary equipment to clients across the energy industry.
