Farm-in opportunity: Australian Gas Appraisal with Potential for 80 MMSCFD

16/11/2021
  • Project Title: Judith Gas Project
  • Project Stage: Appraisal
  • Region: Australasia
  • Location: Gippsland Basin, Victoria, Australia
  • Resource Type: Gas
  • Onshore/Offshore: Offshore, shallow water
  • Deal Type: Farm-out

Emperor Energy is seeking a partner to join it in appraising its 100% owned Judith Gas Project in the Gippsland Basin, Victoria, Australia (Judith or the Project). Incoming parties can earn Project equity by funding the Judith-2 vertical appraisal well with flow testing of the Judith and underlying Longtom gas sands. With this comes an option to participate in funding the subsequent fast-track field development. Principal appraisal well objectives are to determine potential field size and prove deliverability ahead of field development. Partner expressions of interest are now being sought by PetroDIP on behalf of Emperor.

Project highlights are:

  • 1.2 TCF P50 Prospective Recoverable Resource* with 2C of 150 BCF
  • Project de-risked by Judith-1 discovery well and new 3D seismic with positive AVO response
  • Judith is on trend and directly analogous to the Longtom and SE Longtom gas fields; Longtom-3 flowed 75 MMSCFD
  • Clear path to 80 MMSCFD plateau production over 25 years via MOU with infrastructure partner
  • Pre-FEED complete with APA, enabling a fast-track development
  • Reduced Judith development CAPEX; APA to build, own, operate the infrastructure leveraging existing Orbost gas plant location
  • Judith Gas Project well positioned to sell into the supply constrained Eastern Domestic Gas Market

* Unrisked, arithmetic addition
