GHG Emissions and Flaring – existential issues for E&Ps

12/10/2021

David Bamford, Director, Content, for Finding Petroleum, today highlights the upcoming Webinar on 29th October: GHG Emissions and Flaring – existential issues for E&Ps

The Biden Administration bringing forward legislation demanding draconian cuts in methane emissions and flaring, and similar from the European Commission, poses an existential threat to oil & gas companies simply wishing to operate in the United States or import crude oil, refined products or LNG into the EU.

I have to say that many E&Ps seem to be sitting on their hands (or have their heads in the sand!) on this issue as it is very difficult to find more than a small minority with an intent to monitor, measure and mitigate their flaring and GHG emissions.

And yet the technologies to do this exist as we will show in a series of our Friday Lunch’n Think Webinars, the first of which will be on October 29th:

and this will be followed by:

  • What can be done with UAVs?
  • What can be done with Satellites?
  • How can we Integrate this multi-physics to view a drilling rig, a production platform, a pipeline, a gas terminal, a cement factory…..?
