Silixa enters into strategic partnership with Altus Intervention for the North Sea region

11/02/2021

Silixa has entered into a strategic partnership with Altus Intervention AS for the North Sea region.

Silixa’s data driven solutions from the highest fidelity distributed acoustic and temperature sensing systems combined with Altus powered mechanical services allow for a step change in efficiency. The combined strengths enable deployment, data acquisition, challenge visualisation and mechanical adjustment all in a single run in hole.

The Silixa’s precision engineered Carina® Sensing System, enabled by Constellation™ fibre, delivers 20dB or 100 x improvement in signal to noise ratio compared to other DAS systems. This breakthrough performance enables to transform a conventional e‑line or slickline unit into a high-precision Distributed Fibre Optic Sensor, acquiring data from every point along the length of the well simultaneously and continuously without the need to move the logging cable. This eliminates the need for multiple passes of time and depth matched logging and ensures substantial cost savings by reducing the logging time.

The system’s high sensitivity also enables faster recognition of parameters that describe well performance and serves to substantially improve the quality and efficiency of core applications including production or injection profiling and well diagnostics.

Amer Khayyat, Silixa’s VP, said:
“We are extremely pleased to have signed this agreement with our strategic business partner in the North Sea region.  Combining Silixa’s Carina-enabled technology with conventional downhole sensors, gauges and powered mechanical services can provide converging multi-physics answers to downhole issues and affect the solution in a seamless manner.”

“A collaborative approach between service companies is key for our industry and we are proud to integrate our people, resources and expertise with Silixa in order to maximise efficiency for our clients. This is a key part of our Integrated Service Delivery Model.” Cathrine Bjaarstad, President for Altus Intervention, Scandinavia.
