RPS is to support and be included in the Pledge To Net Zero initiative which has now surpassed 100 signatories.

Launched in 2019, the scheme is tackling greenhouse gas emissions within the UK’s environmental services sector. Pledge To Net Zero requires signatories to commit in delivering greenhouse gas targets, in line with either a 1.5°C climate change scenario, or well below 2°C. 

In February, the Pledge formally joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Race to Zero campaign, a move which was welcomed by UN High Level Climate Action Champion for COP26, Nigel Topping.

Joining Pledge to Net Zero demonstrates RPS’s focus on climate change action, with the number of signatories an impressive milestone since the initiative’s inception 18 months ago.

In addition, RPS is also signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), where 1,000 companies worldwide are leading the zero-carbon transition by setting emissions reduction targets.
