The Bulgarian government is reported to have granted Repsol permission to transfer its 30% interest in the deepwater 1-21 Khan Asparuh block, in the Black Sea, to its partners in the block, Total and OMV. Following the transfer, Total will hold 57.14% while OMV will hold the remaining 42.86%.
In 2016, Total announced an oil discovery with the Polshkov-1 well, which was the first on the Khan Asparuh Block and the first deep water well in the Bulgarian Black Sea.
