Oilgen completes reservoir engineering study in France

12/06/2019

Oilgen reservoir engineering consultants completed a reservoir engineering study of the Nonville oilfield in France, for longstanding client Bridgeoil SAS.

Expert work involved full project management, including the supervision and training of our client’s geologist to devise a 3D geological model using Petrel Schlumberger software. A reservoir simulation study by Oilgen consultants then improved understanding of the reservoir mechanisms needed to rejuvenate the field, predict its future lifespan and optimise future development. Oilgen used CMOST, a CMG group advanced history-match sofware, to reduce computation time and cost and allow multi-realisation, thereby better capturing project uncertainties.

The numerical study and economic model we built led to an optimised development plan of several new wells. A key recommendation was to consider the acquisition of 3D seismic over an area identified as a natural extension of the field, potentially as big as the historical accumulation which has produced 5 million barrels of oil to date.

Our findings resulted in an increase of 50% of 2P Net Reserves for our client.
